William F. Hug, Ph.D., President
Dr. Hug received a DARPA Outstanding Performer Award in Sept. 2004 for work on deep UV semiconductor lasers. Prior to founding Photon Systems, Dr. Hug was the founder and president of Omnichrome from 1981 to 1993 and Director of Technology and New Business Development from 1993 until the Corporation was acquired by to Melles Griot in 1997. Omnichrome was the sixth largest laser manufacturing organization in the United States. Prior to Omnichrome, Dr. Hug was with Xerox Electro-Optical Systems from 1967 to 1981. At Xerox he worked on many DOD programs and was the Director of the Light Source Technology Center for Xerox Corp from 1975 to 1981 where he worked to develop and commercialize a wide range of incoherent and laser sources for several major Xerox products.
Ray D. Reid, VP Operations
Prior to founding Photon Systems, Mr. Reid was General Manager of Perkin Elmer, Optical Radiation Division. Before this Mr. Reid was with Omnichrome from its formation in 1981 until it was sold in 1997. At Omnichrome he was VP of Engineering from 1981 to 1989 and VP of Marketing and Sales from 1989 to 1997. Before this Mr. Reid was with Xerox Electro-Optical Systems from 1978 to 1981.
